The Most Wonderful Times of the Year

$10.00

Growing up I experienced the best ‘holiday’ times that any kid could ever have. The memories of someone special and something special are wonderful to recall. For me, the holidays were and still are the most wonderful times of the year. I realize that many of you may not be able to say what I just said. But, in their heart of hearts, they wish those days would have been special. Maybe this book can be some good soul medicine for you and the family you now have.

Product Description

The Most Wonderful Times of the Year is a compilation of many articles Ed Delph has written about New Year’s, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas in his weekly column entitled The Church-Community Connection in newspapers throughout the world.

Ed has captured the ‘out with the old and in with the new’ start of a New Year; the glorious triumph of Jesus Christ rising from the dead against the backdrop of spring and flowers in Easter; the tenderness of and thankfulness of a mother who cared, nurtured and gave on Mother’s Day; the strength of a Father who provided guidance and released destiny on Father’s Day; the thankfulness that we all so desperately need to give to God for our family and our blessings; and last, but not least, the awe and wonder of the Silent Night, Holy Night of Christmas.

Mind you, these articles are not your normal thoughts about holidays. Many times Ed reveals the story behind the story in a humorous way or an unexpected way. Ed uses creative writing methods. Ed has a way of unwrapping holidays that makes people say…”Aha!”
Enjoy and grow by reading the Most Wonderful Times of the Year.

Being the author of a weekly newspaper column that started in November of 2004 called The Church-Community Connection, I have written many seasonal articles. I think I have over forty articles on Christmas alone. This book is a compilation of many of the articles I have written on New Year’s, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

I have tried to capture the out with the old and the new start of a New Year; the glorious triumphant of Jesus Christ rising from the dead against the backdrop of spring and flowers in Easter; the tenderness of and thankfulness to a mother who cared, nurtured and gave on Mother’s Day; the strength of a Father who provided guidance and released destiny on Father’s Day; the thankfulness that we all so desperately need to give to God for our family and our blessings; and, last but not least, the awe and wonder of a Silent Night, Holy Night of Christmas.

Mind you, many of these articles are not your normal thoughts on holidays. Many times I will give the story behind the story in a humorous way or an unexpected way. I use humor, creativity, and well, sometimes I just have a way of saying things that makes people say…”Aha.” There’s some revelation and different perspective in these article that maybe you haven’t thought about. The emails, ‘likes,’ and letters sure do confirm that.

Most of the articles or chapters in this book are five hundred words or so. The chapters say a lot in a little. That means you can actually read a chapter and move on. The size of the book is, by design, a quick, fun, read with heaps of “Aha’s” in it. It’s also a great devotion book or book for a bible study that will evoke good discussion. That’s a good thing!

And, if you are a pastor, just think, you will have lots of sermons you can borrow from the book for Easter and Christmas. That should make you happy.

So, enjoy yourself, get nostalgic, and remember some of the most wonderful times of the year.
